Mackerel is a fish of the family skumryev class Perciformes. Maximum body length - 60 cm, average 30 cm. Body fusiform. Scales small. The back is blue-green with lots of black, slightly curved bands. No swim bladder. Mackerel - thermophilic pelagic schooling fish. Fast swims (in the roll - up to 77 km / h). Flocks usually contain no other fish (rarely swims with herring) and consist of individuals of the same size. Mackerel lives at a temperature of 8-20°C, which is forced to make seasonal migrations along the coasts of America and Europe, and also between Marmara and Black seas. These migrations have the character of feeding (food mackerel is a small fish and zooplankton). Mackerel is easily digested and is an excellent source of protein, it also contains large amounts of phosphorus, iodine, calcium, potassium, sodium, magnesium, zinc, fluorine. Mackerel contains nicotinic acid and vitamin D, which are also an important factor in bone health and nervous system and promote digestion.
